EC Sykes
Chief Executive Officer
EC Sykes is a seasoned chief executive with demonstrated expertise leading technology companies, especially those with emerging technologies, through aggressive organic growth to significant commercial success. He moved into his role as chief executive officer in 2013 after serving on the Switch Lighting Board of Directors. Most recently, EC served as group president of Flextronics' Industrial and Emerging Industries, a $28 billion Fortune 500 company where he managed $4 billion in revenue serving 300 customers in 20 countries and 60 locations. EC was also vice president and general manager at various Flextronics business units and manufacturing locations including Guadalajara, Mexico and North Carolina. Prior to Flextronics, EC was chief executive officer of Circuit Board Assemblers, a design and manufacturing service provider. He holds a master's degree in management and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and serves on the NC State Board of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. EC has held board positions at a regional hospital and various community and business groups.
David Horn
Chief Technical Officer
David Horn joined SWITCH as CTO in 2009, bringing a diverse knowledge base and skill set in strategic business planning, execution of complex multi-disciplined projects and constructive team leadership. With 30 years of experience in high-technology operations development and management, Horn has led all SWITCH activities, from product research and development to operations. He has managed planning and preparations for R&D, testing, validation, contract manufacturing and ultimate product commercialization for the advanced LED lamp solution. Prior to SWITCH, he held technology development and executive management positions at JDSU, Big Bear Networks, Harmonic Lightwave, SDL and XMR. He holds a MS in Applied Sciences from UC Davis/Lawrence Livermore Labs and a BS in Physics from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
Bill Lenihan
Executive Vice President, International
Bill Lenihan joined SWITCH in April 2012 as Executive Vice President, primarily responsible for building and managing SWITCH's international efforts and developing specialty channels and end-markets. Bill brings a strong background to the SWITCH team, with experience at companies including Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, and Calera Capital. As Managing Director at Calera Capital, Bill led the firm's efforts in the industrial and consumer industries. He was involved with such companies as Juno Lighting, Tapco International, and IPS Corporation and his experience includes efforts around geographic expansion, channel development, new product introductions, acquisitions, organizational development, financial planning, efficiency improvements, procurement, logistics and cost restructurings. Prior to joining Calera Capital, Bill was with Goldman Sachs & Co. where he managed and pursued investment opportunities within the Principal Investment Area. He began his career with Bain & Company, Inc. and CS First Boston. Most recently, Bill served as Co-Founder and CEO of LL Golf Corporation, where he co-led efforts in building a national golf ownership and management company, raised $200 million of funding, and built a high caliber operating team and Board of Directors. He received a B.A. cum laude in Business and Economics from UCLA and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Strategic Management and Finance.
Gary Rosenfield
Executive Vice President, Marketing & National Accounts
Gary Rosenfield is a veteran of the building products industry and has been working in the LED lighting category for the last seven years. His background spans brand marketing, sales, and product leadership roles across four divisions of Black & Decker Corporation. He was also the Vice President/General Manager for the Timberlake Cabinet Company, a division of American Woodmark Corporation. Prior to SWITCH Lighting, Gary successfully led the startup of JuiceWorks, a joint venture LED lighting and technology company owned by Generation Brands, the largest decorative lighting manufacturer in North America. Gary had also formerly established a consulting firm, through which he assisted building products and LED lighting manufacturers with their growth strategies. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and continued his business education at Boston University.
